Sat: 8 July 1786. Gaol delivered
Santuck Ghose convicted of Petit Larciny Sentence, Let him, on Monday the 17th of this month, be whipt from the north end to the south end of the Burrabazar & back again from the south end to the north end of the same bazar; and in the mean time let him be imprisoned.
Sooberam, convicted of Petit Larciny: Let him, on Monday next the 10th of this month, be &ca [prout] and again on Monday the 21 of Augt: next, let him be &ca [prout] & in the mean time let him be imprisoned.
Antonio Garcia – convicted of an Asst: & Battery. Let him be imprisoned till Monday the 6 of Novr next, and then pay a fine of one Rupee to the King & let him be imprisoned further imprisoned till the said fine is paid.
N.B: At this Session 4 Indts for murder had been tried, on one of which D. Barry was convicted & hanged, on another Diego a portuguese was acquitted, on a third 2 black men were convicted of Manslr: & burnt in the hand, and another who was tried with them was acquitted, the 4th Indt for murder was tried yesterday and thereon Gopaul was convicted of Maslr: and branded, & a woman tried with him was acquitted. There were now 24 Prisoners discharged by proclamation, most of them for want of Prosecution.
