1778. Sessions. [Saturday] Dec. 12.

It appear’d the Prisoner had been walking along the street in the Town of Fort William, and Shrubdee was driving a Cow. The Cow ran against the Prisoner, or as the Prisoner said, lifted him with her horns, and the Prisoner being angry with this, struck Shrubdee two blows with his Fist, One on the Temple, and the other on the Right Side. The Deceased, Shrubdee, fell down immediately, and died in about two hours. It appear’d the Prisoner was much grieved when he found the deceased was so much hurt, and still more when he found he was dead.
Verdict.
Manslaughter.

Adjourn’d to Tuesday Dec: 15th
