Chambers wrote a Note which I received at Ten desiring to know whether there was “any Capital Cause” “or any Cause either of Difficulty or of publick Expectation; in particular whether the Trial of Peter Romney a Mate of the Duke of Kingston for Larceny is likely to come on to day: I answer’d Romney’s cause was likely to come on but I could not tell the hour.
The Trial of Peter Romney came on about Twenty Five Minutes past Ten.
Mr. Justice Chambers was not come.
