There were only common Motions, and two or three Causes of no consequence tried to day.
A Petition was presented to the Court sign’d by about three Hundred of the English, Scotch and Irish, inhabitants of this Town of Fort William, Praying, that Civil Causes might be tried by Jury whenever the Parties demanded that Mode of Trial, and offering to serve voluntarily on Juries, if the Court had not authority by the Charter to compel the attendance of a Jury.
The Petition was brought into Court by Mr. John Petrie, accompanied by Mr. D’Acres, Mr. Ducarel, Colonel Pearse,
