On finding the hatches secure I informed Mr. A that they were so. He was then inquiring among the people who it was that had handed up those goods. One of the men said that the goods (as he beld) belonged to a midshipman, who was sent for who was in liquor but denied that the goods were his. Some of the people persisted in saying that the goods belonged to
