that the Defendant being charged with a Misdemeanor only, and no Felony, had a Right to Traverse the Indictment, which is nothing else but pleading Not Guilty, and putting off the Trial untill the next Sessions, and the Trial was so put off and not on the affidavit.
The Advocate for the Defendant, Mr. Church, Moved that the appearance of the Defendant on his Recognizance might be Recorded, and it was so Order’d. Mr. Church also Moved that the Traverse of the Defendant might be
