Mr. Chapmen. Is a Gentleman who is in partnership with Mr. Harris as an agent for many Gentlemen, and as such Mr. Chapman has often large sums in his hands in Money, and in Certificates or what is commonly call’d Company’s Paper.
The first Transaction between Mr. Chapman the Plaintiff, and Moore, Sanders and Lacey, the Partners in this Europe Shop, was Moore and Lacey borrowing in Money, about One Thousand Five Hundred Rupees, and Mr. Moore sending a Check on the Bengal Bank payable to Mr. Chapman for this sum of which Mr. Chapman was to fill up the Date, and
