have a very different opinion of Mr. Moore and Mr. Lacy. Mr. Moore had boasted to Mr. Chapman, of a very ingenious Trick he had practised on Mr. Benjamin Mee, a Banker in Partnership with Mr. Rider and Mr. Moore. Mr. Mee had come one day to the shop of Moore and Lacy, and had told them they had over drawn on the Bengal Bank Sixty or Seventy Thousand Rupees, Mr. Moore said he denied this, and said the Bank owed Moore and Lacy at least Fifteen or Sixteen Thousand Rupees, and in Order to shew this Moore said he fabricated an account with such a Balance, and by way of Excuse to Mr. Mee for not producing the Book, they kept with the Bank he
