the murder of Serjt Drogharty’s girl the night before: he said “That wicked woman has been the downfall both of me & her.” [ILL] who went to burt her. I know that Drogharty & the Prisr were in [ILL] & the Prisr [ILL] with Drogharty & the girl: but I do not know of any connexion betw. The Pris & her. When I asked them what he meant by saying “That wicked woman &c. (as above he gave me no answer.
Neither Wilkins, Idle nor Stewart were on guard with me.
The Prisr always appeared to me, to be a sober steady man, who kept himself close, & never was in confinement before to my knowledge.

It was I, who first seized the Prisr. I went behind him & caught hold of his shoulders with both my hands.
