Marteneuse Bishop when he was at Madras in the Armenian year 138 or thereabout ha called upon Mr. Bobjon, the Father of Gregory Bobjon, and me Michael Gregory, which Mr. Babjon then kept a Girl and had several Children by her, and Ordered them the said Mr. Babjon and Michael Gregory either to put away their Girls or Marry them; That in obedience to such orders the said Mr. Babjon had married his Girl, but the said Michael Gregory had refused to do it in consequence of which he had been excommunicated; And this Deponent further with that, about twelve or thirteen years ago, in a conversation which this Deponent had with one Abraham Jacob, since deceased, who was the intimate friend and Chief Agent of old Mr. Bobjon, he the said Abraham Jacob confirmed to this Deponent the information he had received at Madras relative to the said Mr. Bobjon having been so called on by the Bishop aforesaid, and that he the said Abrhaam Jacob had been in the family of the said Mr. Bobjon at Madras. And this Deponent further said that he knows Gregory Bobjon, that this Deponent verily believes he cannot be less than forty years of Age, that the reasons for such this Deponent’s [ILL] that this Deponent knows he was married at Sydabad Sixteen or Seventeen years ago, And that at that time he was at least twenty three or twenty four years of age.
