A belt was round his body & in one pocket were found slugs of lead or pewter: we found also some pieces of paper with the mark of a hand, & some strange characters. The effects found on Delany both at the Hospital & in garrison have been ever since in my custody solely, & I now produce them all as the same effects which were delivered to me. The trunks were again searched in my quarter: & I ordered a European Woman to search his wife. In his trunks, in the pocket of the blue jacket now on the table there was some gunpowder; some small silver rings also were found; & some gun-powder in cartridge, in a shirt-sleeve or a piece of stocking.
