To the charge thereof under the title of Comy Genl, they thot it more proper to appoint a servt under the Bengal Residcy to that office & they did accordly appoint the Complt.

That immedly afterwards Complt was ordered to join the Army as Comy of provisions, & the [ill] schedule A is referred to in the bill & read by Mr. Martyn They appoint him “to the sevl duties & offices lately filled by Mr. John Griffith.” He accordly left Calcutta in Augt following & proceeded to Bombay
