The Indictment
The Jurors for our Lord the King upon their Oath present that Saudoo of Calcutta and Factory of Fort William in the Province of Bengal Labourer, not having the fear of God before his Eyes but being moved & [ILL] by the Instigation of the Devil on the 3d day of December in the year of our Lord 1782 and in the twenty third year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France & Ireland King Defender of the faith & soforth with force & arms at [ILL] aforesd & Factory aforesd in the Province aforesd, in & upon one Iumunnee in the Peace of God & our said Lord the King then & there feloniously wilfully & of his malice aforethought did make and assault & that he the said Saudoo with both his hauts the said Iumunnee to & against the Ground & to [ILL] sustain knife, then & there lying & being feloniously wilfully and of his malice aforethought did cast & them, and the
