I am Deputy Superintendent of the Police: there are many Peons kept belonging to that office. The Peons are under the Orders of the Superindentant, of the Deputy, and of Gopee the Principal Black Officer. He has not authority to discharge the Peons himself, bu on his application to Mr. Motte or to me they would be discharged without any minute inquiry into the Cause.
I never saw Biram but in this Court and at Serampore. I was present when he cried out Durrfin to Mr. Motte; and
