1781. 1 Term. [Thursday] Jan: 11.

on the first day of this Term, concluded in these words “Passed in Council this 6th day of January in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty One”. “Warren Hastings” Edward Wheler”.
And to this had been since added before it was now produced “Revised and corrected and passed in Council with the Erasement of the entire Clause before written in the preceding Sheet this Ninth Day of January in the year of Our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Eighty One”. “Warren Hastings” “Edward Wheler”.
The signature on the ninth of January had been made at Sooksagur the House of Mr. Croftes, about Fifty Miles from Fort William, and might probably be sign’d in Council, Mr. Hastings and Mr. Wheler being both there, and I have no doubt they may lawfully hold a Council, at any place within the three Provinces, which they think fit: But the first Signature on the 6th of Jan. was not in fact sign’d in Council, but was separately sign’d by Mr. Hastings, and
