About Feb. 1774 the Governor and Council Issued an Order that those who claim’d any Balances for Salt should deliver in their accounts by a certain day in that Month.
This though no express promise must have meant “ascertain your Balances and you shall be paid.”
They were order’d to bring these accounts to the Secretary, from thence the complainants were referr’d to the Calcutta Committee. The Bill is filed Oct. 16th 1780 in 1777 there was another Order given to bring in their accounts. Their Agent in the year 1777 attend’d the Committee
