1777. Sessions. [Monday] Dec. 22.

stabb’d: That he was not found again till he was seized at Patna.
It was not now proved, but in fact it was so, that soon after he was seized at Patna, he made an acknowledgement before Mr. Law and the Fouzdar at Patna, that he was the man that kill’d Deyvasahey, but said he did it on the provocation of Deyvasahey calling him the Son of a Pathick, and attempting to commit the crime of sodomy on the Prisoner. On his examination before me, he confessed to the same import, but told the story two ways: One that he call’d him that name in anger as a Term of reproach, and the other that he solicited Golam Alli to suffer him to commit the crime of Sodomy on him. And though it did not appear in the written confession taken before me, yet he did say, that Deyvasahey call'd h’m by that name in Deyvasahey’s own Language (which was Malabar) but being ask’d what that word was, he could not tell.
It was now proved that Deyvasahey had on him at the time he was kill’d two Gold Bracelets which were worth about a thousand
Rupees
