1777. Sessions. [Monday] Dec. 22.

by Mr. William Chambers, whose Dewan or Principal Servant Deyvasahey was, and after a Reward of a Thousand Rupees for the apprehension of Sied Golam Hyder had been offer’d by the Governor-General and Council, Deena had set out from Calcutta and had seized Golam Alli at Patna.
It appear’d by the Evidence of Mr. William Chambers and others given now, that Golam Alli had been employ’d by Deyvasahey to teach him to play on the Sitar or Bengal Guittar: That for several nights before the night he was kill’d Golam Alli came at night to teach him: That Golam Alli laid that night in the house where Deyvasahey lay: That early in the morning of the 16th of March Deyvasahey was found stab’d with a wound which appear’d to have been given by a Cuttar such as the Prisoner used to wear, which is a kind of dagger, with a very strong thick blade, with a ridge like a Rapier [of?] hollow’d blade small sword on one side to strengthen it, or such a One on each side, and with a double handle, with bars across it. That Golam Hyder was not found in the house after Deyvasahey was found to have been
