to 7100 Rupees, Neelmoney Mitter objected to that Item and said “We will not pay this unless the Plaintiffs produce the persons from whom such outstanding balances were due, and unless they acknowledge the balances due.” Plaintiffs people answered “You Neelmoney, & Mr. Fendall, have received from the persons who owed that money and we are here now, how can we produce them.” After this I desired the Plaintiffs people to produce a particular list of the persons owing money, & the sums annexed to their names, which they did, & this is it marked No 25.
I advised Nilmoney to produce an account of what sums of money he, Mr. Fendall or Ram Govind Mitter had received of the monies mentioned in Exhibit (No. 20) upon this Nilmoney gave an account that out of 7100 Rupees they had received 1212.. this is the paper Exhibit No 26.
I thereupon desired the Plaintiffs people to deduct this last mentioned sum of 1212 Rs from their account of 7100 Rupees & that they might go & prove that balance due at Moorshedabad & receive the money there, and this I said they should do within the space of one month.
Plaintiffs people said they would agree, if the opposite party would agree to my award and pay the amount due to them; so much was
done
