After that transaction I never spoke to Mr. Fenwick. I look at the note 2 May (L) to Mr. Fenwick with his answer on it. I recd the Exh. L, K, [ILL] O, & P. I have often seen Mr. Fenwick write & know his pretty well. I know Mr. Lamb by having seen him at Mr. Fenwicks. I have seen him write, but cannot prove his hand. The direction – on Exh. Y to Wm Larkins Esq. is, I believe in Mr. Fenwick’s hand, so (as far as it is possible to say) I believe the words interlined being & hand to be (in Exh Y) in Mr. Fenwick’s. I look at the letter (Exh. Z.) - & I have read a letter to this effect having applied to the govermt for a copy it, Mr. Fenwick having sent no answer to my application to him.
