Term date
24 Jan. 1791.

The paper continued in my possion till I delivered it to Mr. Peat.

Suroop Sinh, sworn.
I look at the paper A, the name Surup Sinh is mine but it was not written by me, nor is the mark mine, I write my name, when I am a witness, at full length. About the end of Aghran last (when one or two days remained of the month I was with the prisoner) when he demanded of Manu bibi, the goods of Sri Crishno Parry, which had been left by Cargaram Parry, Crishno’s eldest brother. The prisr said to me, you are known to all, & live in this quarter, &, therefore, I caused your name to be written, that, if the relations of the deceased come & demand the goods, you may say you know the paper to be true; & then they will believe you & make no complaint, nor will you be put to your oath. I sd Crishno died 8 years ago & you have set my name. I will declare all you have told me
