In the Supreme Court of Judicature at Fort William in Bengal
Third Term in the year of our Lord One thousand from hundred and ninety one.
Fort William in Bengal} Elizabeth Fenwick by William Hickey her allowing Complains of Alexander Colvin who is a British Subject resident within the province of Bengal and an Inhabitant of the Town of Calcutta and for one or both of those Causes is a Person subject to the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court in a Plea that he render to the said Elizabeth Fenwick the sum of Fifty thousand sicca Rupees of good and lawful Dowry of Bengal which he unjustly detains for this to wit that whereas the said Alexander Colvin on the Twenty third day of July iin the year of our Lord Christ one thousand seven hundred and ninety at Fort William aforesaid to wit by his Certain writing obligatory sealed with the seal of the said Alexander Colvin and to this Honourable Court now here Shewn the Date whereof is the same Day and year aforesaid acknowledged himself to be held and firmly bound to the said Elizabeth Fenwick in the said Sum of Fifty thousand Sicca Rupees to be paid to the said Elizabeth Fenwick when he the said Alexander Colvin should be thereunto required
