Nevertheless the said Alexander Colvin [ILL] of an required to wit at Fort William aforesaid [ILL] aforesaid hath [ILL] Paid the said Sum of Fifty [ILL] Sicca Rupees to the Elizabeth Fenwick but hath entirely refused to Pay the same and still doth [ILL] to pay the same to the Damage of the said Elizabeth Fenwick of Fifty thousand Sicca rupees and then she brings the suit.
Plea. And the said Alexander Colvin by James Fenwick his attorney Comes and Defends the force and [ILL] when & and Prays oyer of the writing obliges aforesaid and it is read to him in these words “Know all Men by these Presents that I obtained Colvin of Calcutta Merchant [ILL] held and [ILL] unto Elizabeth Fenwick in the Sum of [ILL] thousand Sicca Rupees of Goods and Lawful money of Bengal, to be paid to the said Elizabeth Fenwick the sum of Twenty thousand five undred seven or there about upon the Balance of an account
