Cokun. On this Jagannath advanced & cut off Cokun’s hand; after which he ran towards a rice field. Cokun pursued, overtook him, and struck him on the head with his club. Jagannath fell. Cokun returned 5 or 6 paces; but being weak with loss of blood, he sat on the ground; and I carried him away. Some Sepoys of Jagannath’s battalion carried him away. I saw none of the six other prisoners there, when the hand of Cokun was cut off, and Jagannath was knocked down. Cokun’s hand fell near Bhawani Singh Havildar.
