At the Sitting of the Court Impey said to Mr. North Naylor the Clerk of the Papers, “I understand you intend to resign your Offices of Clerks of the Papers, and Depositions” Mr. Naylor answer’d “I do resign them” Impey then said Mr. Short is appointed Clerk of the Papers. Thomas Vowler Short Esquire then took the Oath of Allegiance and the Oath of Office, which were tendred by the Clerk of the Crown, and enter’d into immediate possession of his Office.
The two Clerks of the Papers and Reading Clerks now are, James Rowland Caesar Durnford Esquire, who was admitted when Mr. Litchfeild was admitted Prothonotary, and Thomas Vowler Short, Esquire, admitted this day.
