1777. Sittings. [Tuesday] Nov. 25.
I write the Notes while I am sitting in Court, for I never, as business is managed at present can find any other time to write my notes, because especially since the Death of my Dear and most revered Brother the Hon’ble Stephen Caesar Lemaistre, almost all the weight which ought to be done by a common Justice of Peace falls on me, and during Term Time and the Sittings I am obliged to attend to that sort of business, and to taking affidavits and bail and the like current business of the Court that is usually done by a Judge at his Chambers, every day in the afternoon.
