For Stealing Twenty Sicca Rupees.
Mr. Farley the Prosecutor, Sworn.
He swore he lost precisely the Sum laid in the Indictment, twenty Three Sicca Rupees and two Half Rupees, that they were lost while he was asleep: that Mr. White’s Servants were examined and all denied having stolen it: that the Prisoner ran away; on which he search’d his fire-place, and found buried there exactly the sum he had lost.
Mr. White was Sworn: He said he was born in Suffolk, and that the Prisoner was his Servant at the time of the money having been stolen.
The Jury Acquitted the Prisoner
