Therefore Mr. Macpherson in the Letter to the Judges claims to have succeeded to the Office on the 8th of this Month, although he did not take the Oaths as Governor-General, untill February 12th 1785, when Mr. Larkins brought Mr. Hastings’s Letter of Resignation.
