Because the Plaintiff neither produced a Pottah nor accounted for his not doing so. In this Case the purchase relied on was made only last year.

This Cause had been tried the 18th 19th and 20th of August 1778 and also argued on September 21st.
It was an Action for having falsely return’d Nulla Bona.
The Case was Shortly this.
Nemychurn Mullick had sued out an Execution against the Houses Lands and Goods, on a Judgment confessed by Bussunt Roy. A House had been seized by the Sheriff which was known by the Name of Hurro Bose’s House. That House had been bought at a Sale made by the Sheriff about Eight years past, by Rambono Dutt. Bussunt Roy had bought this House from Ramtono Dutt, and had taken the Bill of Sale in the Name of Ajib Roy his Nephew:
