to be subject to the Jurisdiction of this Court by reason of his being a British Subject, residing in the Province of Bengal.
The Trespass was alledged to have been committed at Bale omlah in the Province of Bengal. It is said Bale Omlah is nigh Apole, at which place Mr. Christie lives and carries on the Trade of a Distiller.
It was yesterday said in Court that Mr. Christie could not be proved to be a British Subject, because he had been acquitted on an Indictment of Murder for want of proof
