in Bengal and therefore subject to the Jurisdon of this Court, and also that they are subject to the sd Jurisdon by having committed the felony within the town, of Calcutta.
The prisoners were arraigned on this Idncitment and each of them pleaded Not Guilty.
But Mr. Ledlie, Advocate for Briggs, moving that the trial may be put off till Wednesday in order that the prisr may procure the attendance of Witnesses, who can prove, (as he asserts) that the goods were delivered to him by the prosecution.
The prosecutor denies the fact but agrees that the Trial & deferred till Wednesday; & it is deferred accordingly
