1779. 4 Sittings. [Wednesday] Dec. 1.
The Evidence for the Plaintiff proved that a sum of money was extorted from the Plaintiff by Mr. Sumner who was then, in the year 1772 Chief of Beerboom, on pretence that so much was due to Mr. Sumner, on the just balance of an account concerning Iron at Beerboom. The Plaintiff at the time denied the accounts made out against him to be just, but was forced by Imprisonment to sign a Bengal Bond for the balance.
