year of Bickromagit is the year of 1700 (I think) and the Bengal Civil year 1186, and is the year of Christ 1779 from April 11th in that year to April 10th in the year of Christ 1780.
The Plaintiff proved that a Tank had been dug in this ground for the Charitable purpose of all Hindoos who chose so to do, resorting to it for their religious practice of washing themselves in that Tank: and he proved that the Banks of the Tank were within the Limits of the Eleven Begahs granted to the Ancestor of the Plaintiff, and that an House was built and inhabited by some European, part of which House stood on the Bank of the Tank: and that Hindoo Women of High Casts would not wash in the Tank or Pond, because the Windows of the House inhabited by an European gave him an opportunity of looking on the Tank or Pond. This the Court held was dispossessing the Plaintiff of the whole Tank, by rendering it unfit for the use to which his Ancestor had dedicated it; as well as dispossessing him of that part of the Bank on which the House was built.
