For that the said Defendant William Barton hath not Setforth whether it is not true that notwithstanding the said James Inglish Keighly had made no Specific proposals for Contracting for the Bauleah provision of Raw Silk for the said Subscription Investment and that Seven other persons had made proposals for the same yet the said Board of Trade made no offer whatever to persons making such proposals but excluding them entirely did on or about the Eighth day of aug one thousand Seven hundred and Eighty two or at Some other and what time write a letter to the said James Inglish Keighly in the words and figures or to the Purport and Effect in the said Bill Setforth or to any other and what purport and Effect.
In all which particulars the Complainants Except against the answer of the said Defendant William Barton as imperfect Evasive and insufficient and therefore pray to the said defendant William Barton may [ILL] in a better answer thereunto.
