This Action had been tried on the 20th day of Jan: 1780 – in the 1st Term 1780.
And now Mr. Tilghman is to argue for the Plaintiff, that the Evidence given on the Trial is sufficient to intitle the Plaintiff to recover.
The Evidence was now read. The Principal Evidence was a Bengal Receipt, the Translation of which is as follows “A Receipt for Money”.
On account of a Loan on one Bond to Sreejut Mr. Middleton, by the Hands of Sreejut Rajah Davy Sing, I have received from the Cash of Sree Jut Rajah Dollchund Sicca (50000) fifty thousand Rupees – After the Period of four Months I will cause it to be brought in and paid – The End – Dated the 1st Ogroyhen 1181, Sign’d Santiram Sing.” “A true Translate
