I one of his trunks I found 14 rupees tied up, a small black box with a gold anchor in it &c spick gold ring set with Chish stones: I found also some (about 12) silver rings & jewels, which, I thought, must have belonged to black people, in his bed under the matres of it I found a pistol loaded. I tried it & found it loeded. He said it was, & that he kept it so, because some people in the hospital threatened his Life. In one of his trunks I found a seal marked J. H. the seal now shown to me and annexed to a watch was the seal I found. I found some chith, which I did not examine, because the Hospital Surgeons sent them off to the garrison as soon as they were found. The black box & gold anchor & Silver rings now shown to me are the articles, which I found on his bed I found a number
