(I am adjutant of the same battalion & all the three prisoners have done duty under my eye: the battalion is in the Company’s service, & the prisoners, I know belong to it.) Lieut. Libo on the same 23d of Jany brot Serj Towe & Serjt Ross and Robert Martial to Major Duncan’s quarters, & informed him that they had very strong suspicions against some men of his battalion a person concerned a few nights before in the robbery that had been committed. They named particularly Delany, then in the hospital, as of then, whom they strongly suspected as principally concerned. They mentioned the watch of Serft Ross, which Martial had purchased. The Major then desired me to send to the Hospital, & search Delany & take any further steps that I should judge necessary. I immediately sent for Serjt
