Room was a sick man, whose Christian name was Manuel: in the hall was Rinaldo with Antonio and Pedro. The cook room door was opposite to the window of the room where Rinaldo was hall. The other room was Rinaldo’s in which he & the two men were, when I served supper in the hall. From the place where I sate to draw the water from the rice, and where I was conversing with Maria and another woman, I could see the two men who passed me, coming out of the hall and running, & I did see them coming out: but I did not see their faces; for my attention was fixed on my business. When I first saw Pedro & Antonio that night, Antonio was in nankin breeches & a white waistcoat.
