Mr. Lesley Wroughton the Company’s attorneys afterwards told me that Gopee had given a large sum to Mr. Lawrence for this prosecution of Rammarain that is that was the reason that Mr. Lawrence was so earnest in the prosecution; and wrote in letters to the counsel to urge the further prosecution of him:]]
At the Sessions in June 1781 an Indictment against Ramnarain Misser for subornation of Perjury, was presented and found Ignoramus.
