Mr. Dolby is in Mr. Hay’s office.
From the time of F’s arrival till 5 May last, he was almost every day at my house, and, during those visits, little was spoken of but the business of Diamond Harbour, but as to any particular conversation betw. Him & me, I have no recollection of it, distinct from the general tenour of his discourse. During that period I assisted F. in writing letters for him. I look at a letter (U) the draught, form wich it was taken, I either wrote or dictated.
On a Saturday, 12 Febr last, Mr. Fenwick brot me a letter, to ask my opinion of it. I gave my opinion, that I disapproved it before, as he had been weak enough to receive such information from Mr. Dolby he could not in [honour?] give him up.
