Sir Robert Chambers said he thought Pottahs resembled in their operation the Grants of Copyhold Tenements by Lords of Manors. He said the Pottah for Lands resembled also the Case of Administration of Goods and was a necessary Evidence of a Right, though the Right was precedent to that Evidence of it, or to the Grant of a Pottah in the Case of Land, or of Administration in the Case of mere personal Goods.
