Bengal Paper, swore in confirmation of the Plaintiff, and that the Defendant acknowledged to them the Receipt of the whole Sum, and shew’d them his Cloth in which he said there were Gold Mohurs to about the Sum mention’d, and the bulk of the Parcel he shew’d them in the Cloth appear’d to be the bulk which such a Number of Gold Mohurs would be. The third Witness to this Paper, it was sworn, was now at Dinapore, near Patna.
Mr. Davies Remark’d that the Defendant probably hoped to shelter himself from the Punishment due to Perjury, by swearing
