There was a Replication to the Plea to the Jurisdiction; and other Pleadings and among them a Demurrer to one of the Pleas and Joinder in Demurrer and the Judgment of the Court for the Plaintiff on that.

An Action on the Case. The Material Count was money received by the Defendant to the use of the Plaintiff.
The Case proved by the Plaintiff was money extorted by the Defendant on pretence of his right by being assignee under Mr. Benj. Laccam of an exclusive Priviledge to burn Chunam or Lime, within the Twenty Four Purgunnahs, to prevent all Persons from Burning Chinam who would not pay him certain sums he demanded.
